LAURINDA HOFMEYR &THE AFRIQUE MON DESIR ENSEMBLE ARE TOURING FRANCE IN JUNE
Laurinda Hofmeyr is a South African musician and songwriter making music with a strong world music influence. She specialises in setting Afrikaans poetry to music. Her initial success came through writing hits for artists like Laurika Rauch, before embarking on a solo career with her critically acclaimed “Perd oor die maan” album.
Her latest album is a jewel in the crown of Laurinda’s work. She masterfully brings to life the pain, longing, internal conflicts, rich visions, cries and whispers of some of the most revered francophone and Afrikaans poets, carefully woven around the theme of Afrique mon désir/Afrika my verlange.
